About this event
How can we communicate with the river?
How can we reimagine the river’s data?
How can we foster new relationships with the river?
Zoom can be a site of fatigue, but it can also be a site of dynamic exchange and learning. 23rd Biennale of Sydney participants A4C Arts for the Commons invite you to join them on a digital journey to celebrate World Rivers Day on Sunday, 26 September from 6-7 pm (Note this is local time in Sydney).
A4C Arts for the Commons will be joined by Italian-born Australian-based Alessandro Pelizzon, Senior Lecturer, Southern Cross University and Ecuadorian, Paris based, Daniel Mancero, composer and project collaborator to deliver an innovative digital program featuring performance, dialogue and sound. The session will be guided by Lleah Smith, Programs and Learning Manager, Biennale of Sydney and close with an immaterial call-to-action on River Rights; encouraging the transference of ideas and processes introduced in the public program back into local communities across Australia and the world.
A4C Arts for the Commons embrace collectivity, collaboration and knowledge sharing and exchange through their artist, activist and environmental practices. Voices of Rivers: Listening to and communicating with our waters is a gentle offering to the public to engage with key aspects of the collective’s practice. The program fosters a rich insight into A4C Arts for the Commons working methodologies and their project for the 23rd Biennale of Sydney, rīvus.
