Sign up to learn the latest about the Rights of Nature Movement! The Orange County Amendment passed with 89% of the vote! Where do we go from here?
Noted environmental advocate, Chuck O’Neal will be our guest speaker to share information about initiatives to protect our waters and the rights of nature. Mr. O’Neal recently was instrumental in the passage of an Orange County “Rights of Nature” amendment, intended largely to protect the Wekiva and Econlockhatchee rivers, which won an astounding 89% of the vote.
Jim Durocher, a FL Coastal Master Naturalist, will join Chuck to discuss what is happening locally and the nonpartisan interest in clean water we’ve seen in our last election. Jim is the Florida Rights of Nature Network East-Central Regional Director for seven counties including Volusia.
The program is free and open to the public.
The meeting is virtual and participants must pre-register. To RSVP, email ahsmith5 <at> bellsouth <dot> net by February 21st. Please indicate “Clean Water” Program in the heading of your email.
