This letter by the Grant Township of Pennsylvania Supervisors was published on the Community Legal Defense Fund’s (CELDF) website, January 12, 2018.

Today the elected supervisors of Grant Township, PA, responded to the sanctions against Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF) attorneys who have “defended our community’s right to stop a toxic frack wastewater injection well for over three years.”

On January 5, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania issued an order imposing sanctions on two CELDF attorneys defending the community’s decision to stop frack wastewater injection wells.  The sanctions were ordered as part of a lawsuit in which Pennsylvania General Energy, LLC (PGE) is suing Grant Township to overturn the Township’s ban on injection wells.  CELDF Press Release
